In 2017, Briana’s Neighborhood Dare to Dream Foundation launched its inaugural Mobile Movie Makers (M3) Youth Film Competition. M3 is dedicated to nurturing budding young filmmakers and sharing the transformative power of their work, which will be created on their mobile devices. Founded by Sahar Simmons, M3 is committed to entertaining, educating and inspiring youth from diverse backgrounds. M3 supports future generations of writers, directors, producers, actors and behind the scenes talent to use their mobile devices to create personal stories that will positively influence their peers and community.
The M3 platform is about creating a level of inclusion and diversity within the ever growing film/tv industry. The only way that this can be achieved are through opportunities for youth to feel confident and empowered about who they are and providing them with leverage to grow and excel.
M3 goals are to provide education, guidance and direction for youth to use the power of their voices to create digital content and ultimately for their content to become currency.
